It's always interesting to read that a lot of churches are just starting to use this method. I go to Emmanuel and I've grown up with these things. I don't think it is necessary to walk the aisle to have Jesus be your Savior, it just sort of shows others that you've received Him, or you want people to help you out with your new relationship with God. I'm sure that alter calls can be hard for some to do, because everyone is staring at you as you walk up to the pastor. That would make me uncomfortable.
I really like how you began your blog. I definately agree that it can be nerve wracking to walk up in front of a large amount of people and profess your faith. Good point.
ReplyDeleteYes abby I agree witt your view on this and stand and think it is the same. Alter calls are good and new to some people.
ReplyDeleteAbby I agree that sometimes we do things and don't even pay attention to it. And I agree that it would make you feel kind of awkward but isn't christianity stepping out of your comfort zone.
ReplyDeleteLike Blake said christianity is coming out of your comfort zone and you need to be doing it for the right reasons like showing people that you have christ.
ReplyDeleteDear Abby,
ReplyDeleteI agree. There is a certain level of awkwardness that walking down the aisle would attain. That is cool that you have grown up with something like that. For me, I have not heard of aisle walking until we had this assignment. I was genuinely confused on what it was at first. Great job!

I agree that aisle walking can be a good way to make your salvation public or have people see you that know you are saved. You aren't supposed to hide Jesus. Let others know and I totally agree. Great thoughts!
ReplyDeletethat would make me uncomfortable as well. Christianity IS uncomfortable but i would not say that walking the aisle is a part of Christianity.
